What types of turtles live in coral reefs?

Hawksbill Turtles

Not many turtles autally live in these reefs, there are some main ones listed below . The most common turtle is referd as the "reef resident" is the Hawksbill Turtle Thses are the most common types found ( hence the name- ) They use thier shap, hawk-like beaks that they use to eat, spounges, invertebres, and coral-.

Characteristics

They have sharp, hawk-like beaks with narrow heads, and patterned shells. Along the patterned shells are scutes, or plates, and thye change colors from amber to a brown/yellow.

Green Turtles

These large herbioves are found in shallow areas, snaking on seaweed near the coral reefs, they also use the corals rocky ledges as a nice resting place.

Characteristics

Mainly known for their heart-shaped, brown ( or olvie ) shells and their small heads. Named after the fat beneath their shells, not the color of thier shells.

Loggerhead Turtles

loggerheads have more of a pescatarian deit ( they eat crustaceans and mollscs mainly ). Loggerheads have strong jaws that are able to easily crush their pray. Loggerheads are also know for their migration, if you go at the right time might see one!

Characteristics

The Loggerhead turtles are mainly recognized by thier MASSIVE heads and reddish, heart-shaped shells.Also haveing 5 pairs of lateral scutes on heir shells.

Flatback Turtles

These turtles nest on the contental self of Australia. When not feeding in the waters of Assiue, they tend to migrate to Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.

Characteristics

Adult Flatbacks are easily idetified by their obousisly flat backs, low shells and upturned edges covered by thin skin. Uderneath the shell thier are some splashes of white that adds to thier unique apperence.
